Check-In.
Community safety,
reimagined.
Check-In is an all-in-one community safety platform that connects residents, moderators, and security companies together - ensuring neighbourhoods stay informed, coordinated, and safe in real time. What started as a coordination problem in one neighbourhood grew into a platform serving 10,000+ users across Toronto and Halton Region.

How it started
Our neighbourhood already had a security guard - a strong foundation. But as the community grew, coordination issues started to surface: missed messages, response delays, and unclear visibility into what was actually happening on the ground.
The tools people were using - group chats, phone calls, manual check-ins - weren't built for this. There was no central place to see what was going on, no structured way for the moderator to communicate with residents, and no way for the security company to stay looped in.
Check-In was built to solve exactly that - a purpose-built platform that brings everyone into one place.
The Problem
Three groups, three problems
Crime is rising, yet communities lack a unified, community-driven platform for real-time communication and geographic crime visibility. Check-In fills that gap.
No easy way to flag concerns or get visual updates when something feels off in the neighbourhood.
Without structured communication, moderators struggle to monitor conversations - leading to false alarms and duplicated efforts.
Lack of direct resident communication channels and payment collection issues hinder their ability to deliver their best service.
The Solution
What Check-In does
Check-In is designed to bridge residents, security providers, and law enforcement - each getting their own tailored variation of the product.
Any community member can drop a pin on the map, attach an image, and add a brief description of suspicious activity witnessed in the neighbourhood.
An efficient messaging system that lets members communicate with each other and allows the moderator to broadcast updates about active concerns.
Our AI system - powered by Claude and GPT-4 - analyzes community data and delivers a weekly report on suspicious activity trends in the neighbourhood.
Residents, security providers, and law enforcement each get their own tailored interface - purpose-built for how they actually interact with the platform.
